Yesterday my friend Phil picked me up to go over to the Empire State farm days that is held each year  near Seneca Falls. He arrived in his little red Honda FIT with his brother Tom and Toms son Ron and daughter Kathy. Together we headed off for the show grounds on a swelteringly  hot and humid day. This was to be my 8th annual visit to the show since our family moved here from England in 2005. My friend Glen Quackenbush from Hall NY did not have a stand at the show this year and so I had to be contented to have my photo taken in front of one of his competitors who did attend the show and who brought with them this fantastic display rig. It is a real pity that the company that Quackenbush represents for the brand of outdoor furnaces that they manufacture and sell through their distributors and agents, were not represented at the show this year. Neither did they have a display unit like this to promote their product to the 70,000 people that are estimated to be attending the show.  I guess they have enough business without the need to promote or advertise their product at the show this year!
