Cobtree – New York’s Finger Lakes Region’s hidden gem!
One of the greatest pleasures of living in Upstate New York and particularly the Finger Lakes, is that we do have a full four seasons. What I mean by this is that the year is fairly divided into four distinct seasons. Spring typically is March through May, June through August is summer followed by the fall September through November and then Winter December through February.
Whilst the winter can seem to get very long and cold, the snow is a wonderful contrast to the heat of the summer months.
However, whatever the season, there is always something to do in the Finger Lakes Region. Not only do we have a good viticulture culture that has rapidly grown over the last twenty years, we also have great restaurants dotted around the region as well. But, that is not all of course.
There are a huge number of activities for all ages to enjoy throughout the year from water sports, marathons, cycling events, the Seneca 7 races to be held on weekend of the April 25-27 this year, the Musselman Triathlon to be held on the weekend July 11-13th, the Seneca Lake hydrobowl power boat races (date to be arranged).
You may also go hot air ballooning, kayaking, canoeing, rent a pontoon boat from Roy’s Marina or Stivers Marina and go out on the lake fishing, tubing or even water skiing. There is a new indoor soft play children’s activity center located on Exchange street in downtown Geneva, a lakeside park with excellent children’s play equipment, ice cream concessionary, bicycle rental, pedalo boats, a NY State park with beach and swimming area, water spray playground and barbeque areas, the long pier and breakwater for on land access to Seneca lake for fresh water fishing, craft fairs, farmers markets, the windmill craft and markets center in Penn Yan.
For rainy days there is the Corning Museum of glass in Corning NY and the Strong Museum of play and planetarium in Rochester NY. Just a handful of what you can do in the Finger lakes just in the spring, summer and fall! All of these activities are very close to the Cobtree Vacation Rental Resort which is located right on the Seneca Lake Wine trail and in the very heart of New York’s Finger Lakes Region.
